I thought I would take a minute to explain
what you will find in their take home folder.
1. Spelling Study Sheet: They will bring this home every Monday. It will
have a parent signature stamp on it. The spelling study sheet is to be
returned on FRIDAY. They are to study the words every night.
2. Cursive: They will have this most nights. (Usually Monday and Wednesday
nights.) It has a practice sheet stamped to what they worked on in class.
They are to practice on proper formation of the letters. Follow the arrows
for proper formation....it may not be how you form your cursive letters!
PLEASE>>>> I DO NOT let them practice writing their name until they learn the
captial letter that their name begins with. This goes for writing it on their
school work and homework, as well! We should start learning the capitals
around the end of November.
3. Math: We follow the Saxon Math curriculum. It is a fantastic math proggram and your child
will be learning at an amazing rate!
They will have this for homework everynight...except for 12:30
dismissal days and after we have test. There will be a fact sheet and a
concept sheet. Please follow the direction on the fact sheet for the timing.
