What is your grading scale?
Grading Scale: 100-90%=A 89-80%=B 79-70%=C
69%-60%=D
below 59%=F
What is your late work or retake/redo policy?
Class work/Homework/Tests/Quizzes/Projects - It is important that
you are prepared and do your best on all work, as all work is of
equal value.
ABSENT MAKEUP POLICY: If you are absent, it is your
responsibility to make up the missed work. You must submit the
work directly to Mr. Hill when completed.
LATE WORK POLICY: All work will be accepted for full
credit up to 5 days before the current grading quarter ends.
(Parent contacts will be made and possible after school time
arranged to complete work after any work is more than 3 days
late.) After the dead line of 5 days prior to the end of
the grading quarter, all work not completed will be given a
failing score.
REDO/RETAKE POLICY: All work may be attempted as many times as a
student desires for full credit. Arrangements must be made with
Mr. Hill for either before or after school to retake a test or
quiz. The test or quiz can only be retaken within 2 weeks of the original
test date, but remember, students can retake the test or quiz as many times as
needed during the 2 week period. All other assignments may be completed anytime.
Is tutoring available?
Tutoring:
I will be available upon request most days either before or after
school Monday through Thursday.
What are your classroom rules?
Mr. Hill's Classroom Rules:
1. Arrive to class on time every day.
2. Be prepared.
3. Do your work.
4. Respect your own and others life spaces
Do you give extra credit?
I am more interested in students learning the topics covered and
working toward mastery of those concepts. Given the fact
students can redo or retake any assignment or test as many times
as they desire, extra credit will not offered.
Why does my child not bring home graded papers?
I collect and keep all graded work in a portfolio for each
student for discussion with parents during parent/teacher
conferences. Work may be returned at P/T conferences or at the end of the school year.
How can I check my childs grade?
Students grades can be seen by getting a password from the school
district and accessing the parent portal of the districts grading
system called JMC. Please call the district technology
department for more information.
