Monte Hill is originally from Bloomfield, Iowa, where he graduated from
the Davis County Community Schools in 1981. In 1985 he attended Indian
Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa, where he earned his A.A. degree.
He continued his education at William Penn College in Oskaloosa, Iowa, where
he earned his B.A. with a major in Broad area Biology/ Earth Science and a
minor in Safety and Diver Education. He earned his M.S.E. in Secondary
Administration from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mr. Hill began his teaching career 1989 at the Kirksville R III High
School in Kirksville, Missouri, teaching freshman physical science. In 1990
he moved to Centerville, Iowa, and taught eighth grade science at Howar
Junior High. Mr. Hill returned to his hometown of Bloomfield in 1991 where
he taught science at the Davis County Middle School six years. In 1997 Mr.
Hill began teaching Anatomy & Physiology, Biology, and Earth Science at the
Davis County High School. Mr. Hill also taught summer Driver Education for
one summer at Centerville High School and two summers at Davis County High
School. Mr. Hill has had a variety of coaching responsibilities that
include eight years as Head Varsity Wrestling Coach at Davis County High
School, Junior High Boys Track and Football at Davis County Middle School,
and was an Assistant Varsity Football Coach at Kirksville, Centerville, and
Davis County. Mr. Hill began his administrative career at the Moravia
Community School District as the 7-12 principal and was there from 2001-
2003. Mr. Hill then moved to Fairfield, Iowa, and from 2003-2008 he was the
associate principal at the Fairfield Middle School.
Monte lives in the Floris area with his wife Tracey and they have four
grown sons, Kyle, Dexter, Kalvin, and Demry. He loves the outdoors and in his
spare time enjoys motorsports.
