I graduated from UNI in 1989 with a 7-12 social studies teaching degree and
coaching endorsement. I substitute taught for a year in the area around Keota.
My first teaching job was at Schaller-Crestland School District as a 6-8
social studies teacher. I was also the assistant athletic director and
coached basketball, track and mock trial.
In 1994 I started teaching at Highland CSD and taught high school social
studies for four years. In 1997 I returned to the University of Iowa for a
masters degree in school counseling.
In 1998 I started at Washington High School as guidance counselor.
After seven years as a counselor I decided to go back to school for a masters
degree in administration and became principal at Keota Jr/Sr High School in 2004.
I take great pride in leading the students, faculty and staff at Keota High.
It is challenging and rewarding on a daily basis. My motto is to always
strive to keep things positive no matter what situation arises. Maintaining a
positive school culture for all is always our goal.
Our mission at Keota Jr/Sr High School is to create a positive and productive
school culture that nurtures, motivates and challenges all students and staff.
