Duties of the Human Biographer
As the Human Biographer you will be responsible for identify some key
information about several key players in our country at the start of the
Civil War. Your job will consist of finding the same information about 5 of
the individuals listed below. You will have a chance to choose at least two
people who supported the Union, two people who supported the Confederacy,
and one from either camp. You can use any of the following sources, or
multiple sources to help you complete your work, just remember that you need
to cite your work and also, that plagiarism is not acceptable. Here is the
information that you will need to include for each person:
*Date of Birth
*Date of Death
*Place of Birth
*Place of Death
*Which side did they support? (Union-Free States or Confederate-Slave States)
*What are some personal facts about this individual? (may include
information about his family, his schooling, their hobbies, or special
interests)
*Was that individual ever involved in politics/government? What position(s)
did that individual serve while in government? How long? etc.
*Were they in the military? If so, what rank in the military? How did they
earn their way to that military rank? (Example: They were in the Army and
they were a general. They were not always a general, however, they
started out in the army as a...)
*What did they do after the war, if they survived?
*What are three major accomplishments of each individual leading up to, and
including the war?
