If you are willing to volunteer, your help would be greatly appreciated as an extra set of eyes on field trips, and/or help with the kindergarten at any time as well as with the first and second grades when we are painting or doing other messy things. I would also GREATLY appreciate people who would be willing hang/change the artwork in the halls when the grades finish their next project. Please email me if you are interested. PLEASE!
Supplies you can help the art room with
Things you may have around the house:
Hand held pencil sharpeners We are in need of pencil sharpeners!
Sandpaper to draw/paint on
Paper grocery bags
Old pencils that aren’t being used and are taking up space
Left over yarn, any color
Fishing line
Tissue paper from gift bags (It doesn’t matter if it is crimpled)
Instead of throwing these in the recycling bin, bring them into the art room from time to time:
Small mirrors from compacts
Plastic crystal light containers (hold pencils sharpener, and an eraser for each table – need more for pencils and colored pencils)
Cereal boxes (thow the bag away and flatten the box)
Ice cream buckets and lids (buckets make great storage, and the lids turn into dream catchers)
Pump hair spray containers ( I have none, and need these for the clay unit)
Frosting containers or other small plastic containers (with lids would be best, but not necessary.)
Flat Styrofoam shapes (cleaned meat trays are great)
Newspapers (we don’t need all your newspapers, just a pile from time to time)
Calendars! Don’t throw these out at the end of the year! Bring them in I could use the pictures.
Old coloring books with pages that have not been colored in (we use the line drawings to practice representational drawing)
If you are willing to purchase items to donate… these would be appreciated:
Tissues - We have none in the Art Room
Sandpaper to sand with
Sponges for the tables
Lysol all purpose spray for the tables and counters
Sticky tac
Plastic yarn needles
Chocolate… it helps with the mental well being
