It's May!
Join us for the K-2 Relays on Friday, May 10th from 12:00-3:00. Students will compete in fun activities throughout the afternoon.
Our field trip to the Blank Park Zoo has been postponed to Friday, May 17th. We'll leave Perkins at 9:30 and plan to arrive at the zoo at 10:00. Students will eat a sack lunch at the zoo and return to Perkins at 1:00.
Our nonfiction animal reports are on display in the hallway. Students have a lot to be proud of!
The 2nd graders will be focusing on addition and subtraction strategies with mastery with larger numbers. We'll continue to use number lines and break apart numbers to solve in more efficient ways.
Pennies for Patients is a for Leukemia & Lymphoma. Students may donate money in the cardboard collection boxes that will be coming home. Also, please send your child's Box Tops for a challenge from May 6th to May 27th. The ten students who bring the most Box Tops will receive an invitation for and a friend to have an ice cream sundae!
Our mealworms are quickly changing to beetles. The students have had fun watching them develop and change over time. If you're in the building, be sure to come see our amazing ant farms. They're made from gel and have an LED light so we can easily see the ants working together.
