Fourth Grade The fourth graders have been learning to use Power Point to create presentations. For science, they did research on endangered animals and used the information they found to create a Power Point presentation to share with the class. In recognition of Black History Month, the fourth graders researched famous African Americans and created a Power Point presentation to share about these notable people with their classmates.
They used Kid Pix to create their bookmarks for the Optimist Good Reader program.
They have been doing Education City activities selected by their teachers to practice and reinforce skills being taught in the classroom.

As a part of this activity, they learned how to use iClipart.com to find and insert pictures into their brochures. They are now working on a brochure about themselves to be displayed for Grandparents’ Day.

Another activity both the fifth and sixth graders did was called “If You Were President”. The first thing they needed to do in this activity was select their three advisers. |

|

|
The next task was to create a “balanced budget” allotting funds in five areas: education, health care, military, crime prevention and environment. |
They were then interviewed by the press regarding the decisions they had made.

|
Finally, an article about the new President appeared in the newspaper.
It was very interesting to see the choices that the students made! |
