Hello there! Welcome to our class website.  Room 219, located on the second floor of Alexander Graham Bell School, is home to a vibrant community of twenty-eight 2nd grade learners plus one very excited teacher


*We have begun work on our Chicago Flag computer project! Interactive activities involving the flag and its symbols can be found here, while Illinois state symbol activities are here.*

*The "Funds for Food" service project has started! Send in your loose change, and we will use donations to purchase food for the Common Pantry.*

Here are some important dates to remember:

Wednesday, April 25: Field Trip to the Clarke House Museum; please pack a home lunch to eat in the classroom.

Thursday, May 3:
Egypt Day! We will spend the afternoon with our 6th grade buddies, participating in activities they designed to teach us about their study of Egypt.

Bell School Primary Spelling Bee, 12:45 PM

Friday, May 25: The 2012 Room 219 Grand Chicago Tour. If you would like to join us, please add your name here.  If you aren't available to come along for the whole tour, consider meeting us for lunch in Millennium Park at 1:00.  You do not need to sign up for lunch.

Monday, May 28: Memorial Day Holiday


Note: In late April/ early May we will be taking two walking trips: one to Jewel to purchase groceries, and the other to the Common Pantry to deliver our donations.  Parents are welcome to join us! I will send out concrete times/dates when I receive them.
