About The Teacher

This is my fifth year teaching at Conrady.  Previously, I have taught 6th 
grade Reading & English (both average and honors levels), 7th grade Reading 
& English, as well as 7th grade Reading Enrichment.  I am part of the 
Conrady Publicity Team, and I co-sponsor Newspaper Club and Conrady Idol.  

I completed my Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Secondary Education at the 
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  I also received my Master of 
Arts Degree in Reading through Olivet Nazarene University.  I hope to 
continue pursuing my higher-educational goals throughout my teaching 
career.  

As for my life outside the classroom, I am married to my wonderful husband, 
Mr. Christie, who teaches at Stagg High School.  We have two cats, and we 
love spending time with our family and friends.  My favorite TV shows are 
Lost and American Idol (hence the creation of Conrady Idol).  Some of my 
hobbies are reading, gardening, singing, and cooking, although I have been 
known to burn bacon on occasion....

I look forward to a great school year!  I feel lucky to work with a great 
staff and fabulous students and families!
