Does my child have homework?

Most nights the fourth graders will have homework. If you want your child
to do additional work, they can practice the multiplication tables, work on
their cursive, or read a book for enjoyment. There is also a spelling list
to review most weeks.

If my child is sick, how do I obtain work that has been missed?

When you report your child's absence to the nurse you can request homework
to be brought home by another student or it can be left at the front office
to be picked up by a parent. Let us know what time you need the homework to
be in the office.

What is my child learning in school?

Each quarter a quarterly summary will be sent home. Many of the units that
are part of our curriculum are included in the summary.

What is a missing assignment slip?

A missing assignment slip is given to a student when they did not complete
an assignment by the date it needed to be turned in. An occasional missing
assignment slip is nothing to worry about. Please sign the slip and return
it the next day because if they are not returned another missing assignment
slip may be sent home. Many missing assignment slips can lower a student's
grade. We use the missing assignment slip as a tool to help students learn
responsibility and as a communication tool.

What should be in my child's home folder?

Each night, your child should give you any notes that were sent home that
day. Notes for parents is dedicated to one side of the folder, while
homework is supposed to go in the other. The only papers that should be
brought back to school are homework assignments to be turned in and notes
from parents. It is very important for students to find a sense of
responsibility by staying organzied and prepared for school.
