What if I don't have a job by the eigth day of school?

If a work program student does not have a job by the eigth day of school but
has been searching with great effort, keeping in contact with me over the
summer thru email and working diligently during the first week of school
they will be allowed to remain in the program, but required to complete
a 'Beat the Street' form every week. If you have not been searching

What is 'Beat the Street'?

A student who is placed on 'Beat the Street' must complete a weekly form.
This form will demonstrate two actions. The first is that you have
continued to job search two days a week, filling out 3 applications each
day. The second action demonstrated is that you completed 6 hours of
volunteer service each week. This process repeats itself until you are
employed or until the end of the semester. If still unemployed at the end
of the semester you will be put back into a full day of school for the
second semester. The purpose of 'Beat the Street' is to ensure that
students' valuable release time from school is being used appropriatly.
