The following links are helpful for any student that is looking for extra
practice in areas of current events, place & location, and basic Geography
knowledge.

Headline spot gives kids the chance to keep up on current events.  The various
websites are kid friendly, using vocabulary that junior high students can
understand.
News For Kids

Izzit Current Events gives students a daily article.  Along with each article
students are able test their knowledge of what they read.

This website, sponsored by the History Channel, gives students a brief
overview of important historical events occurred on each given day.  This
website is used periodically at the beginning of class.

Trivia Plaza gives students random questions dealing with Geography.  Students
will be able to test their knowledge of various aspects of Geography.

Students will be given a report of what they did at the end of the game.

quiz based website gives questions dealing with satellite images of the Earth.
Geography from Space

This National Geographic website will help give student practice for the
National Geographic Bee.  Each student participates in the National Geographic
Bee each December and will help students prepare for the preliminary rounds.

Sheppard Software provides helpful tools to students needing to practice their
states/capitals, countries/capitals, physical features.  Using this website,
students will have an advantage in studying for their tests.

Weatherbase gives students helpful information on the climate of their
assigned country.  Students will have access to information on annual
precipitation, temperatures, etc.

Class Zone gives students access to their Geography and Literature textbooks
at home.  Each student has been given a username and password to access the
textbooks at home.  Not only will students be able to read their material on
the computer, but they will be able to take notes, highlight material, and
have the book read to them.
