WELCOME BACK!

Curriculum

This year we will be using the Connected Math Series. We will also be working on continuing to increase our standardized tests scores. This will be done by spending the first part of class doing mini-lessons, called exercises. We will be working on algebra, geometry, measurement, ratio/proportion and fractions. In November, we will begin to review and practice for the standardized tests. Each student will receive an ISAT Coach book to use in class.

Grading

► Homework: I assign homework daily and check it for completion 1-3 times a

week. It should be completed neatly and in pencil. Homework can be turned

in only one day late for half credit.

► Exercises: There will be a warm-up exercise everyday. Students are given

10-15 minutes to start on the exercise and are to be turned in the next day.

Late exercises are not accepted due to the class time given.   Quizzes will also

be given after an exercise book is completed. Point values will vary.

► Quizzes and tests: Quizzes will be given throughout the quarter. Tests will be                            given at the end of each book. Quizzes and tests will be announced in advance
and will vary in point value.

► Grade printouts will be handed out once during a quarter and must be signed                             and returned for 10 points. I encourage keeping track of your students grade

                 on PowerSchool.

► Quarter grades will be determined by combining points from homework,
warm-ups, quizzes, and tests. Grades will be weighted as follows:

                        Quizzes and tests- 55%

                        Warm-ups- 30%

                        Homework- 15%

* I am available to help students during academic advisory. I am also available after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:05-4:05.
