George B. Armstrong
6th Grade Science
Welcome! I am the 6th grade Science teacher. I grew up
in Chicago and attended St. Scholastica High School. I graduated college at
DePaul University. I have a master's degree in Science Education and Teacher
Leadership. I am also a National Board Certified teacher in Early Adolescence
Science. This will be my 11th year teaching at Armstrong and 13th year overall.
Wow, time flies! I am married to a wonderful husband and have a very loving
dog.I also have a son born April 1, 2014. He is the love of my life.
I also love teaching science! Every year I learn more and more about the
fascinating planet we live on. I hope you will enjoy it too. Please feel free
to e-mail me with questions or concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I believe in order to learn science, we must "do" science. We will have
lots of opportunities to work hands-on with the topics we are learning. We will
become scientifically literate. I hope that many of you will pursue a career in
science and then come back to guest teach a class. I believe students, teachers,
and parents all need to work together to achieve success in your education. As
the saying goes, "A mind is a terrible thing to waste." I am here to teach you
and I expect you to be in the classroom ready and prepared to learn everyday.
