MRS. STEADMAN - LITERATURE/COMPOSITION Week of 9/2 Literature: · Your first successful AR test over your approved independent reading book is due Sept. 29th. · Read your approved independent reading book at least 20 minutes each evening at home. Our Unit 1 Reading Skills Test will be at the end of 1st quarter. The skills are: vocabulary: context clues, characterization, inferences, synonyms/antonyms, fact vs. opinion, suffixes: al, ic, ical, ist, and dictionary skills. We will have daily review and practice over the skills in class. Practice will be completed for homework if not finished in class. I will be available at recess or before/after school for extra help on these skills, if needed. Please see me to set up a time. * Wednesday: Finish reading "Eleven" pp27-30 and answering question one and "Vocab. and Spelling" #1-4 on p. 31 if not completed in class. * Thursday: Complete the "San Francisco Puzzler" handout (skill: following written instructions.)
