About The Teacher

Mr. Carris is in his fourth year teaching Humanities at Golf Middle School.  
He received his undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois in 
Champaign and his master's in teaching from National Louis University here 
in Chicago.  Prior to coming to Golf, Mr. Carris taught special ed. for one 
year at New Trier High School and spent twelve years as a public 
relations/marketing executive.

Mr. Carris also spent four years coaching varsity boy's basketball at 
Deerfield High School and will coach JV Boy's Soccer and JV Boy's Basketball 
here at Golf for the third straight year.

He was also married to his high school sweetheart and best friend, 
Hilary, in March of 2006.  They have a 7-year old boy who is entering 
the first grade in Gurnee at Woodland Elementary and the couple is expecting 
another child in March of 2009.
