FAQFrequently Asked Questions: This page contains answers to common questions of students and parents.
Why do I need to show my work if the graphing calculator gives me the answer? The graphing calculator is a great tool for solving both basic and complex problems. However, it is not a substitite for understanding the processes and concepts that lead to the answer. Once we learn how, for example, to graph a line given only one point and the slope, or how two lines relate if their slopes are inverses of one another, then we will learn how to solve these, and other types of problems using the graphing calculator. How often will we have homework? Homework is typically assigned 4 nights per week. Over long weekends, homework may be given to make up for time missed during the shorter week. How many topics will we cover in the textbook? Our goal is to cover topics in all of the chapters so that everyone is highly prepared for Algebra 1. |
