I come from a family of educators. My mom teaches first grade, my dad
taught middle school, and I have tons of uncles and cousins that are also
teachers. This is my 7th year in education. I spent my first three years
teaching in the elementary classroom and the next three years working as a
lead literacy teacher in Chicago public schools. I have learned so much
about reading in the past few years both through professional development
and the graduate classes I am taking at Concordia University. The more I
learn about reading, the more I want to know! I look forward to a fantastic
school year at district 67!
My mission is to instill a love of reading in each student I work with. My
mission is also to give each student the tools and strategies necessary to
be a great reader!
