*    Listen to and comprehend a story

*    Review consonants "y", "v", "k" and the sounds they represent

*    Blend, read, and write words with the short e vowel sound
    
*    Read and build words with short e

*    Distinguish between fantasy and realism

*    Identify naming words

*    Use words that are opposites
