Kindergarten and Fourth Grade Reading Buddies!
Miss Reinish's Kindergarten children and Mrs. Mitchel's (Mrs. Mlynski is on
maternity leave)Fourth grade children are going to be reading buddies for
the
school year!
Mrs. Mitchel and I met before we started the program and matched each
kindergarten child with a fourth grade child according to their
personalities and reading abilities.
The fourth graders will be picking out 2 books each week to read to their
kindergarten buddy during buddy time on Friday mornings. The kids sit in
pairs together spread out throughout the media center and the older kids
read to the little ones and then ask them questions about the storyline,
characters, and setting. Your child will bring home a sheet filled out by
their buddy that names the books they read! Please ask your child about
their experience with their buddy each Friday afternoon! New friendships
will
develop and the kids can all learn from one another, young and old!
