Hello, and welcome to my web page! Here's a little bit about me-I grew up
in a northern suburb of Chicagoand graduated from New Trier High School in
Winnetka, Illinois. After high school I attended Indiana University, where
I received a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies. After a short
break from school, I returned to get my Master of Arts in Teaching from
National-Louis University. This is my third year teaching fifth grade, and
my first year teaching at Golf Middle School. I love all the students and
staff at GMS, and I anticipate an outstanding 2007-2008 school year.
Some interesting things you should know about me include that I love to
travel! I lived in New York City this summer with my wonderful husband, Ben.
We had such a blast. We went to a Broadway show, attended some really neat
museums, ate delicious food, traveled to Ellis Island and the Statue of
Liberty, watched hilarious stand up comedy shows, and cheered on the Yankees
at Yankee Stadium. Other recent places we've visited include: Mexico, Costa
Rica, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Colorado. I love sports. In fact, this fall,
I'll be coaching girls' volleyball when Mrs. Conejo goes on maternity leave.
I'll also be playing on an Intramural football and softball team this year.
My mission is to create a stimulating learning environment for all my
students. I will do my best to provide students with engaging lessons and
authentic learning opportunities. All my students this year will learn in
the comfortable and safe confines of our classroom. Not only will they learn
important academic knowledge, they will also learn important organizational
and social skills. If everyone follows our classroom rules, works their
hardest, and asks questions, we will have a successful and fun school year.
Let's do it!
