Homework is given every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday night.
Please help your child complete the assignment and sign the white folder.
If it states to "echo read" the book, you read a sentence pointing to the
words, then have your child model you. If it states to read the book,
your child should read it to you. Talk about the pictures together before
your child starts to read.
Be sure to help your child to use his/her "powers" to confront any unknown
words -You say: use the picture,or use letter sounds, or skip the word and go
back to figure it out. Look for little words in big words, look for word
parts, or self-correct. If he/she still cannot figure the word out, you can
tell it to him/her. Telling the word is a last resort.
