What is the purpose of theTitle Reading Program?

The purpose of Title Reading is to provide students with extra support in 
reading.  The program focuses on the five strands of literacy: Phonemic 
Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Comprehension.

What is the goal of Title Reading?

The goal of the Title program is for students to master the skills and 
strategies associated with literacy learning. Furthermore, we want the 
students to apply these skills in the classroom.

When do students get pulled out of the classroom for Title Reading?

The students are pulled only during times when there is no direct instruction 
taking place or no Specials classes (i.e. P.E., Music, Art).

How often does Title meet?

Students come to Title for 2 hours a week. It may for two, three, or four day 
increments.

What are the qualifications for Title?

Students who qualify for Title Reading are typically reading 6 months or more 
below grade level.  We also use teacher recommendations.
