I have been teaching Special Education classes for 20 years. I have also
taught Early Childhood
Education for 6 years. This is my 7th year at Hawthorn & I am delighted to
be here working with
your son/daughter. It's a great district, with wonderful teachers,
administrators, parents, and
students.
Both my son and daughter will be at Indiana University this fall. My house
will definitely be quiet,
except for the occasional barking, meowing, and patter of paws running across
the floor. With extra
time on my hands, I'll be able to provide after-school help to any of my
students who wish it.
Come take a look at my classroom. I have a Mr. Potato Head collection that
keeps growing. The last
addition to my collection is "Tinkerbell." If you see any new spuds, let me
know!
My educational mission is that all students can learn when they are in a warm
and inviting environment.
Students that achieve the highest success are those when the team involves
the teacher, student, and
parent. I try very hard to keep the lines of communication open to parents
and hope they feel
comfortable contacting me about any issue. Each day, I hope my students
enter my classroom feeling
safe and secure. If they come with a positive attitude, are ready to work,
and accepting of help, they will
achieve success.
Most of all, I want my students to enjoy their time in class and laugh along
the way!
