Welcome to Room 107's Webpage!
NEWSFLASH -- Congratulations to Leonardo for earning "Student of the Month". There is no school for students on Friday December 4. Science: We are beginning to learn about animals. Reading: We are reading a biography and learning about locating information in a book. Math: We are all very excited learning how to tell time on an analog clock! Most of the students are doing great with this. Please practice at home often. Parents, thank you for your positive feedback on this website! It seems as if this class is using and enjoying it a lot. Let me know if there is anything you'd like to see added. We are having daily tests on the multiplication facts. It is very important that you work with your child each day. We have done doubles, 2s, 3s, 5s and 10s. UNIFORMS: I have been noticing black pants being worn instead of blue. Please make sure your child is in uniform so that quality educational time isn't taken for uniform issues. Thank you for getting your child to school on time. This year it's been great that we've not had to stop instruction to change attendance for tardy students! The students in 107 have been excited learning a lot of new math games to help improve their addition skills. Some of these games would be very easy for you to play with them at home with a normal deck of playing cards. I'm sure your child would be happy to teach you these "games" (which are actually math practice games). They learned, "What's My Number?", "Addition War," "Around the World" and "Ruler Addition". The best thing we can do is to all work together to reinforce these basic skills. Remember to check the pink folder inside the green 3-ring binder to see if there are any notes for you. Also, please remember to look at the agenda book and make sure the work is done correctly, then sign the homework and the agenda book. This helps keep your child responsible for doing the work well. Feel free to contact me by e-mail or leave a message at school and I'll get back to you as soon as possible.
