General Announcements
Congrats to the HMB on their end-of-season 2nd Place finish at the Atwood-Hammond Marching Band Festival! Also congrats to DM Colin Taylor and AsstDM Hannah Ruwe on their 1st place finishes in Field and Parade! It's been an amazing first season!
High School Success Rate - 78%
Junior High Success rate - 83%
- We are in DIRE NEED of houses for the House Walk on Saturday, December 5, from 3-7 p.m. Please let me know if you are interested or you know someone who is! This event WILL BE CANCELED if we do not have 5 commitments by Friday, November 6.
- High School Band will switch into Concert and Pep Band mode IMMEDIATELY. Tuesday is sight-reading new music, Thursday is a work day (I'm gone...), and Friday is full-blown rehearsal.
- Junior High Band Festival Information
- JHBF is THIS THURSDAY at Villa Grove. All 6-8 Band members will be attending an afternoon of rehearsals followed by a 7 p.m. public concert. This is always a great concert...come support our young musicians!
- Dress Code for this event is EITHER red music department polo (if you already have one) or nice dress clothes. No jeans, shorts, or flip flops!
- Meal order forms will go out on Friday, October 30 and are due back by Tuesday, November 3.
- Flagpoles and flags for JH Flag Corps are ALMOST here...1/2 have arrived, we're STILL waiting on the other 1/2!
- Drumline should be working on Rock Talk.
- Jazz Band should be working on Tyrannosaurus Charlie and Blues to Grow On. New music on Tuesday!
- Incentives for academic performance will be arranged next week.
- There is ALWAYS a practice record for 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, and 7th/8th Grade Band. Everyone always has something to work on.
