How long may I keep a book that I checked out from the school library?

Kindergarten and first grade students may keep books for one
week. Second
through eighth grades may keep books for two weeks. The books are
due the
same day of the week that they are checked out.

I haven't finished reading my book. May I take it out again?

Yes! Just bring the book back to the library and as long as no
one else has
requested it and you dont have any overdue books, or fines over
$1.00, you
may check it out again.

Do I have to pay a fine if my book is returned late?

If you are in third grade or older, you will have to pay a fine
of 5 cents
for each day it is late (we dont count weekends or school
holidays).
Kindergarten, first, and second grade students do not pay overdue
fines.

May I return a book before the day it is due?

Yes! We love to get books back early that gives another
student a chance
to check out the book. Just come in the library and put it in
the book
return (the big blue bin).

How many books may I check out at one time?

Kindergarten students may check out one book at a time. Older
students may
check out two books a day, and may have four books out at any one
time. If
you are working on a research project and need more books, talk
to one of
our librarians.

What if I have an overdue book, or fines that need to be paid?

If you have an overdue book, or you owe $1.00 or more in fines,
you will not
be able to borrow from the library until the book is returned or
the fines
are paid.

I lost my library book. What do I do?

Ask one of the librarians how much you owe. Hard cover books
cost a minimum of
$20.00, and paperbacks cost a minimum of $10.00. Once you pay
for a lost
book, you may borrow books again.

I found the book that I already paid for. May I have my money back?

If you bring the book back during the same school year that you
paid for it,
and if we have not yet replaced the book, the money will be
credited to your
familys give/get obligation.
