FANTASY CROCODILES!!!!
The project first starts with a discussion about color.

There are six main colors, an we focussed on the first, and most important colors, the Primary Colors. Those colors are Red, Blue, and Yellow and they are important for two reasons. |

1. Primary Colors cannot be created from other colors; they just exist the way they are. Thanks Hashem!!
2. Primary Colors can be mixed together in various combinations to produce the Secondary Colors. |

The second art concept we discusses was Pattern, and how with just simple repetition, you can take a single line, shape, or symbol and turn it into a pattern. We also discussed some of the patterns that exist in some animals, like stripes and spots. |

Students then were told to pretend that we were explorers who recently discovered a new species of crocodile. Unlike normal crocodiles, these crocs were only Primary Colors and full of different patterns. |

Each table was given a packet of papers that when spread out and taped together, create one big crocodile. Using crayons and their imaginations, students worked in their table groups to complete the entire crocodile, each adding their own creativity to the project. |

Each table had the opportunity to make two complete crocodiles, which totaled about 20 crocodiles from the entire First grade. |

The crocodiles are currently taped together and will appear on the Hillel Torah walls across from the Library. |

Come by and see our family of Primary Color Crocodiles! |
