2nd Grade Gallery

The first project of the
year for second grade
is all about PATTERN!

Pattern is the technique of taking a single
line, shape, or symbol and repeating it,
creating a pattern. In addition you can
combine multiple lines, shapes, and symbols
to create an infinite amount of unique patterns.

Students first traced their hand three times,
each time overlapping the tracings. The result
is a lots of overlapping lines creating many
separate spaces.

Students then create patterns within all of
the smaller spaces, never repeating the
same pattern twice.

After all of the pencil work, all of the lines are
then outlined with marker so they can be seen better.

A final color pattern for the background will
be added at the end. Come back soon to see
