Week of Nov.23:
We will check the review sheet together in class for pereck 17. We continue
to pereck 18 and learn pesukim 1-4. We will also learn Parshat Hashavua on
Wednesday.
Week of Nov.16:
The Shabbat Bowl was held on Monday.The semi-finals will be on Wed.In Korach
we finish pereck 17 and learn pesukim 21-28, with Rashis 21 & 23.Questions 6-
10 need to be completed. At the end of the pereck, there will be a review
sheet given out to do before the test.
Week of Nov.9:
We are working on the project for Rashi 13, the discussion between Aaron and
the Angel of Death. We continue in the pereck with Pesukim 14-28, Rashis
21&23 and questions 5-15;1-6.
Question of the week: What else was next to the Aron besides the staff of
Aaron?
Week of Nov.2:
We continue in pereck 17,pesukim 6-15. The Rashis we learn are possuk 11 &
13.There will be a group project illustrating Rashi13.
Question of the week: How many spices made up the Ketoret?
Week of Oct.26:
The test on pereck 16 scheduled for Tuesday has been moved to Wednesday. We
will continue with pereck 17 pesukim 6-11. We were not able to learn the
Rashis in possuk 3 last week so we will learn them this week.
Question of the week: same as last week.
Week of Oct. 19:
We have completed the first pereck in Parshat Korach and will have a test on
Monday,Oct 26. Our review day Question of the week: In pereck 17 who does
Aaron Hacohein have an argument with?(see Rashi.)
Week of Oct 13:
Welcome back! We will be finishing the story of Korach Pereck 16. We will be
reviewing the Ramban we learned before Succot and learning a new Rashi possuk
22 "Keil Elokei Haruchot". Questions 1-10 will be assigned for homework.
Question of the week: Where in Pirkei Avot is Korach and his rebellion
mentioned?
Week of Sept.21:
In Parshat Korach we continue in perek 16 pesukin 8-15 We will answer all the
questions and learn Rashis in possuk 7 & 12. We will talk about the Kriat
Hatorah for Yom Kippur.
Question of the week: What was done on Yom Kippur by the Kohein Gadol that is
connected to what we're learning in Chumash ?
Week of Sept.14:
We continue in Parshat Korach in the first (long ) Rashi and write out most
of it. We will answer questions on the first seven pesukim (16:1-7). We will
be divided into groups and explore two Midrashim on Parshat Korach,how two
women influenced their husbands. One was righteous and one was wicked.
Question of the week:Which two words in possuk 7 lead us to believe that
Moshe wanted the "test" to be done in the Mishkan in the Kodesh Kodashim?
Week of Sept.7:
This week we will ask and answer many questions about Korach and his revolt
against Moshe. We will learn Pereck 16 pesukim 1-7 and Rashi 1.For homework
the students will write out the Rashis that we learn and explain them in
Ivrit.
