The Bookmark Report
7th Grade
Due: Wednesday, November 17th
In recent years, bookmarks have become interesting sources of information, advertising, and personal messages. These bookmarks, sold in many retail and catalog outlets, vary significantly in size and design. They make popular gifts and reminders.
- Choose a book (free choice) over 150 pages long. This book must be age appropriate.
- The book must be approved by Mrs. Kopin.
Assignment
The Bookmark Report should consist of a set of 5 bookmarks all related to your book. Bookmarks can be made from poster board, file folders, 5X8 file cards, or any other paper, except for lined notebook paper. These bookmarks should be enhanced with some type of artwork. Bookmarks will be put on our bulletin board, so they need to be eye-catching.
- Bookmark #1—Characterization. Use at least 2 main characters and write about them. What were they like? Why are they the main characters? Are they likable? Why? Why not?
- Bookmark #2—Setting. What is the setting of the book?
- Bookmark #3—Plot. Summarize the story.
- Bookmark #4—Information about the author. (You can go on-line for this information)
- Bookmark #5—Review. Did you like the book? Why? Who should read this book?
