About The Teacher
Hello, Welcome to the fourth grade website for room 18! I am so excited to continue working with the Hillel Torah community, and can not wait to begin. We have such a busy and fun filled year ahead of us, but before we begin, let me introduce myself... I am a metro Detroit native who was raised in the city of Berkley, but no worries I enjoy the Cubs, Sox, Bulls, and Bears, along with the Detroit teams lol. I graduated Berkley High School in 1999, and continued on with my educational endeavors at Western Michigan University. I received my Bachelors of Science in Education with three minors; Science, Math, and Integrated Creative Arts in 2004. Along with graduating from WMU, I decided to try the other side of Lake Michigan out, and moved to the fabulous city of Chicago! I have resided here for the past 6 years, and will be starting my second year of teaching at Hillel Torah. The first four years I worked in the Chicago Public School system, with three years of teaching sixth grade, one year teaching fifth grade, and two summers teaching third grade summer school. The summer of 2008 I received my Masters Degree in Education and Curriculum, I am now contemplating what the next degree will be...any ideas? Other interesting information about me, besides my educational background is, I love spicy foods, I do not like heights, and I can not sing, but I still like trying. During my spare time, which is so little these days, I can often be found in the nearest book store completely immersed in a great book, out to dinner with friends in the lovely city of Chicago, or just hanging out and relaxing on the beach, with a great book of course! I also love racquetball, and was a competitive swimmer from a young age and throughout high school. I am also very open to new hobbies, and learning whatever I can. I can't wait to see what new and exciting things the new fourth grade class can teach me!

Mission
I expect each and every one of my students to do THEIR best. In the wise words of my very own father, "There will always be someone who is going to do something better than you, and someone who won't be able to, but YOU still need to do YOUR best!"
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
