Christmas is coming very soon! Last week, we certainly got into the spirit of the holiday season while shopping at the Christmas Boutique, practicing for the vocal concert, and learning about graciously receiving gifts from Mrs. Newhall.

Spelling & Reading: Due to all of the Christmas festivities taking place this week, we will not have a new spelling list or story. We will take time this week to review all of the short and long vowel sounds that we have learned this year. We will also spend a couple of days working on improving parts of our writing. We will focus on nouns, plural nouns, and action words.

Math: We will review Topic 7 and take our test on Wednesday. Please do some of the review sheets that were sent home last week with your 1st grader :)

Religion: We will wrap up our discussion of Advent and prepare for the birth of Jesus!

Social Studies: For the next 3 weeks, we will discussing the traditions and customs of winter holidays around the world.

I am excited to see everyone at the Vocal Concert on Thursday evening! Remember to be in our classroom no later than 6:45pm.

Also, please join us for our prayer service on Friday December 18th at 9:30am. It is a half day of school and also a dress-up day for the kids. No need to send your child with a snack that day... we will have lots of treats at our classroom party!

Merry Christmas! See you in 2010 :)
