Dear Parents
As salam Alaikum
Can you believe that April is ending? The end of the school year is fast approaching and we want to thank you for all that you have done for our students to make this year special.
Language:
We have learned all the letters of the alphabet!
Our class goals will now focus on creating new words using spelling patterns, increasing our word power by learning new sight words and discovering new sound combinations such as sh and th
In Language Arts we are beginning to predict what we think is going to happen in a story or what we think a character might do. This has been difficult because you have all been incredible at reading to your children.
Math
In math we are continuing our discussion of counting, writing numbers, and what the numbers mean.
The pre-kindergartners are beginning to learn about money and develop skills in identifying coins such as the penny and nickel.
We will be focusing on understanding their value and trading coins such as 5pennies for 1 nickel. You can help your child develop these skills by giving them opportunities to count the coins in your home
TISSUE PLEASE!
At this time of the year, with colds and coughs going around, we have used all of our tissue supply.
We ask our Pre-K parents to kindly donate a box with your child’s name written on it to the classroom. Thank You!
Important Note:
- Homework is due on Friday
- As the weather is getting warmer, please send water bottle with your child
You can contact me by phone or email Mrs. Zoha
A note from Mrs. Elkhatib
Quran Competition was a lot of fun this week! Everyone had a chance to recite the surahs we have been learning all year. Everyone is a winner! Everyone will be getting certificates for participating and doing so well Insha'Allah. I hope they all enjoyed their gifts.
In Arabic, we learned the letter Noon and the words: Nakhlah (palm tree), Namlah (ant), Nimir (tiger).
In Islamic Studies, we reviewed the du'aas of the morning and night and the manners of sleep.
