The best way for your child to be successful in school is for the school and
home to form a partnership and work together to help your child be the best
he/she can be. This includes supporting behavioral, social, organizational,
and academic goals as a team. I have raised two kids and have seen them grow
into successful, hard-working adults, but it has been a team effort from home,
school, coaches, family, and friends. Please allow the school to discipline
your child when he/she needs it. Serving a detention or having to write an
apology are sometimes just what a student needs to view their behavior in a
new light. Two years ago, many parents complained about negative consequences
and the students' behaviors deteriorated throughout the rest of the
year--causing many unnecessary problems between peers and with teachers.
However, last year went very well, with parents and teachers/staff working as
a united team to improve the academic and social behavior of the students.
Hopefully, this will be the case again in the 2008-2009 school year. Thank you
in advance for starting the year off by joining with me to ensure that your
child has a successful year.
