All 5th grade students will have social studies in my room during the day.
This site will contain information on reading assignments, worksheets, or
other assignments that are given in class. It will also tell you in advance
of tests or projects.
Monday,November 2
Flash cards made for da Vaca, da Soto, and Coronado will be made in class.
We will begin a video about how Pizarro conquered the Inca and discuss.
Tuesday, November 3
Flash cards will be made for Cabrillo and Estavanico. We will finish the
video about Pizarro and the Inca and discuss. Vocabulary review for lessons 3
and 4 will be done in class.
Wednesday, November 4
Vocabulary quiz on lessons 3 and 4. Students will work in small groups to
study their conquistador flashcards for tomorrow's quiz. Students will match
the explorer to their conquests.
Thursday, November 5
Quiz over the conquistador flashcards. We will review the conquests of Spain
in the New World and discuss the importance of them to Spain and the rest of
Europe. Read for Monday, Chapter 3 Lesson 5 "Search for the Northwest Passage."
Friday, November 6
