I have taught at Lake View High School since the beginning of the 2006-
07 school year. Previously, I taught at Hirsch Metro High School on
Chicago's south side for two years.
I received my PhD from Northwestern University in Molecular/Cancer
Biology in 2006. I received my undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from
University of California, Davis, in 1996.
I got married in Bloomington, Indiana on May 25, 2008.

For AP Chemistry, our BIG GOAL is to earn a 3,4, or 5 on the AP exam on May
12, 2009.
In Honors Chemistry, the BIG GOAL for Dr. Alur's Chemistry class is to
become "Everyday Chemists" through the presentation of a topic of the
students' choosing and how it relates to chemistry.
