What happens if my child forgets their library book?

When a student forgets their library book, they will not be able to check out
a new one until the original book has been returned. I will often ask the
student if they know where their book is (i.e. at home, in their backpack,
etc). If the student returns their book the following day, they will be
allowed to check out a new book then.

What happens if my child's library book has been damaged or lost?

If a library book has been lost or damaged, I would like for the family to
send in the replacement cost of the book as soon as possible. Please feel
free to notify me and I will let you know the replacement cost.

Is there a fine for an overdue book?

I do not fine for an overdue book at Ledgewood. I do try and teach the
children about responsibility and how important it is to care for their
library books. Since this is a learning experience, I choose to reward the
students when they are successful in returning their books with a bookmark
and various reading incentives.
