English I Honors offers qualified students the opportunity to pursue their
language arts studies at a challenge level commensurate with their ability.
Instruction will focus on helping students develop their higher order
thinking skills while also providing students with a background in reading,
writing, speaking and listening. Not only will students study major authors
and their works, they will also have the opportunity to learn and apply
strategies from Lincon-Way's reading program to aide in their understanding
of the literature. An extensive vocabulary study begins. Students will be
requested to purchase selected paperbacks in order to booknote their texts.
