I completed my bachelor of science degree in Biology with a minor in
secondary education in 1992 at Saint Xavier University in Chicago. My
professional masters degree is in science education leadership from Illinois
Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago. Currently, I am working toward my
doctoral degree in science education at IIT and hope to complete the program
by the end of 2012. My research has been focused on science teacher
pedagogical content knowledge. I have been teaching the life sciences for 18
years, this is my 12th year at Lincoln-Way East.
I have three boys of my own ages 14, 11, and 9. I competed in and completed
my first ever sprint triathlon on August 9, 2009.
