MATH:
* Writing the numbers 55, 56, 57, 58
* Addition Facts: Adding 2
* Comparing and ordering objects by length
* Measuring using nonstandard units
* Adding 2 to an odd number
* Writing the numbers 0 -10 using words
* Identifying pairs
Math homework is assigned each day and should be completed and returned to school the following morning. There will be a math test on Friday, December 18. Please review graded homework.
READING/LA:
* Stories: We will be reading from Weekly Reader this week.
* Comprehension Strategy: Sequencing
* Phonics: Clusters scr, spl, spr, and str
* Sight Words: car, down, hear, hold, hurt, learn, their, walk, would
* Grammar: Writing answers to questions, Identify asking sentences
SPELLING:
up, us, but, fun, cut, run, jump, plum, hunt, hug - There will be a Spelling Test on Friday, December 11. Spelling homework is due on Friday, December 11. I will dictate 2 sentences. Students will be required to write the sentences correctly – Uppercase at the beginning, period at the end, and words spelled correctly. Ex: The cat is big.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
Learn the meaning of a neighborhood
Learn how to use a map key
Learn the meaning of the words law and leader
Identify the contributions of Jane Addams
Learn the meaning of the words state, continent, and ocean and how a
community fits into a state, a country, and a continent
