Dear Parents:
Late Homework - Please make sure your child turns homework in on time. I have
started deducting points for late homework.
Field Trip - Our field trip to see James and the Giant Peach at Niles West
High School is on Thursday, November 5. Please remember to pack your child a
home lunch. We will eat when we return to school.
Volunteer Opportunities - If you would like to volunteer to do an art project,
read a book to the class, or come in for any other project please feel free to
contact me. We love to have visitors.
Snack - Please remember to pack your child a healthy snack for the afternoon.
Snack is NOT provided by the school. Please send a snack that is easy for
your child to finish in 20 minutes and will not create a mess in the
classroom. Remember that our classroom is carpeted and we are trying to avoid
spills as much as possible. Students may only drink water or milk during
snack. Do not send juice.
Sight Words - Students have been tested on their Dolch Pre-Primer Sight
Vocabulary. If your child is still struggling with the words please review
them on a daily basis. If your child has mastered the Pre-Primer list,
download the Primer list (from class documents) and begin reviewing those.
Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home on Friday. There is no obligation to
buy from the Book Order. The Book Club is an easy, inexpensive way to build a
library for your child. If you would like to order please check of the titles
you would like on the order form and send a check (Payable to Scholastic Book
Clubs) or EXACT change. Please send orders in by NOVEMBER 11. You may also
