Announcements

Dear Parents:
Attendance - Please make sure that your child is in school on a regular basis.
We cover a lot of material daily and students with consistent attendance
perform better. Your child should be at school by 8:10 for morning assembly.
We begin our day in the classroom promptly at 8:30.

Third Quarter begins on Monday, February 1. Report cards will be sent home on
Friday, February 5.

Classroom Temperature - Our classroom tends to get very hot. Please send your
child to school in a t-shirt with a sweater or sweatshirt over it. The
sweater or sweatshirt can be easily taken off if your child gets hot. Avoid
putting shirts under the t-shirt. Feel free to send a water bottle to school
with your child.

Supply Boxes - Please make sure that your child's supply box contains all of
the necessary supplies for an efficient school day. Each child is responsible
for his/her supplies.

Yearbook - There is still time for you to purchase a school yearbook. For $25
your child will receive a 64 page color yearbook capturing memories from this
year.

Homework - Please make sure that your child writes their first name, last name
and number on ALL assignments. Points will be deducted if all 3 things are
not included. Please look over your child's homework each night to ensure that
it is done completely and neatly. Children will take greater pride in their
work if home and school expectations are the same. If homework is not
completed neatly it will be sent back to be redone in addition to any other work.

Late Homework - Please make sure your child turns homework in on time. Five
points will be deducted for each day the assignment is late.

Volunteer Opportunities - If you would like to volunteer to do an art project,
read a book to the class, or come in for any other project please feel free to
contact me. We love to have visitors.

Snack - Please remember to pack your child a healthy snack for the afternoon.
Snack is NOT provided by the school. Please send a snack that is easy for
your child to finish in 20 minutes and will not create a mess in the
classroom. Remember that our classroom is carpeted and we are trying to avoid
spills as much as possible. Students may only drink water or milk during
snack. Do not send juice.

Scholastic Book Orders will be sent home on Friday. There is no obligation to
buy from the Book Order. The Book Club is an easy, inexpensive way to build a
library for your child. If you would like to order please check of the titles
you would like on the order form and send a check (Payable to Scholastic Book
Clubs) or EXACT change. Please send orders in by January 15. You may also
