Dear Parents,
Alssalamu alaikum,
My name is Ms. AlQudsi and I will be the teacher of Islamic Studies for your
child this year. I am looking forward to an exciting year. It is my goal to
provide all students with an educationally challenging, yet fun, experience in
my classroom. Learning Islamic Studies is most essential part of our Muslim
lives. My goal is to help our young generation learn and understand the basics
of our religion and its rules and guidelines in a fun and entertaining
formula.
I come to you with a long history of teaching experience. I have graduated
from Kuwait University where I achieved a BA in English Literature. There I
taught English as a second language for nine years. After moving to the United
Sates, I worked in the Public schools in California. When I moved to Chicago
more than fifteen years ago, I shifted my focus to teaching Arabic as a second
language along with Islamic studies and Quran.
This is my second year at MEC. I am very lucky to be part of this energetic
team. It is my pride to be part of its long and shining history. It is also my
honor to participate in its growth and the growth of this community.
I have extremely high expectations of all my students, and for that I will not
apologize. I am asking for your help to maintain those expectations by
checking with your son/daughter periodically to make sure that his/her work is
being done, and that they are ready for any quiz or test. I am available to
help students individually before school, during my prep periods, and after
school.
