Assalam'Alaikum. My name is Ayesha Aziz and I am a graduate of
Northeastern Illinois University. It is a privilege to work at MCC-FTS where
I have the opportunity to work with Muslim students who represent our
future. My goal is to prepare them academically for higher success as well
as strengthen their character with strong Islamic values. As parents and

Dear Students and Parents,
Assalamu’Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu
Welcome to Third Grade! I am writing to introduce to you as your
child’s third grade teacher at M.C.C. full-time school for the 2009-2010
school year. I am a recent graduate from Northeastern Illinois University
where I completed my Bachelors in elementary education. Insha’Allah, this will
be my third year teaching at an Islamic School. I am excited about the
opportunity to get to know you, and I’m looking forward to a happy and
productive year.
Please note that students are expected to complete all homework
assignments on time. If homework assignments are a day late, students will
receive half credit. Homework assignments later than a day will not be
accepted. Students will be given a Home Folder. This folder will travel to and
from school every day. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure that
this folder is brought to school every day. This folder will have two pockets
labeled ‘R’ for Return to class and “L” for Leave at home. The ‘R’ pocket will
contain homework assignments, forms, permission slips that need to be returned
back to school. Anything that students put in the left ‘L’ pocket will be for
the parents.
Research has shown that children improve their reading by Reading!
Students are required to read 5-6 books each quarter from our accelerated
reading list. It is a requirement for homework that students read 15-30
minutes daily from a book. Students will be given a reading log to record
their daily reading. Please initial your child’s reading log daily.
Mrs. Raahat will also be a very important part of your child’s third
grade class. She has been a part of MCC-FTS for the last ten years.
Insha’Allah, she will be teaching students Islamic Studies.
More information about our 3rd grade classroom and the MCC-FTS
community will be given out at the Open House on Thursday, September 3rd from
4-6 p.m. Once again, welcome to third grade. Let’s work together to make this
a successful year for your child. If you have any questions/concerns please
feel free to contact me at (847) 470-8801 or I_shaziz@hotmail.com.
Sincerely,
Ms. Aziz
