Dear Fourth Grade Parents,
Assalamu-Alaikum,
My name is Asiya Hussain. I look forward to being your child’s
Fourth Grade teacher for the school year of 2009-20010. First of all I would
like to say Ramadan Mubarak! InshAllah this month will be full of blessings
for you and your family. Ramadan schedule begins on the first day of school,
starting at 8:10 and ending at 2:30. No hot lunches will be served during
Ramadan, children must bring a home lunch if they are not fasting.
I graduated from DePaul University with a degree in Elementary
Education and will be starting my masters in ESL/ Bilingual Education at
Depaul University this Fall. This is my fifth year teaching Fourth Grade at
MCCFTS. I am also proud to say that I am one of MCCFTS earliest students. I
attended MCCFTS in 1990 as a Second Grader, the first year MCCFTS opened its
doors. Allhamdullilah, I am pleased to have returned to my former Elementary
School, this time not as a student, but as a teacher.
In order for this year to be a successful year for your child,
communication between the student, parents, and the teacher is key. If you
have any comments/questions/concerns, feel free to contact me at (847) 470-
8801 or at asiyahussain83@gmail.com
Students will have a Friday Folder. Every Friday all tests and
assignments that have been collected that week will be returned to students
in their Friday Folder. It is then the students’ responsibility to show
their folder to their parents and have it signed.
The subjects I will be teaching are Math, Reading, Language Arts,
SocialStudies, and Science. Social Studies and Science will not be taught
every week. One chapter of Social Studies will be completed before moving
on to a new Science chapter.
More information about our 4th grade classroom and the MCCFTS
community will be given out at the Open House on Wednessday, August 26th
from 4-6p.m. InshAllah I look forward to meeting you then.
JazakAllah- Khayr,

Dear Parents
Assalaamualaikum,
Ramadan Mubarak (Allah (s.w.t) shower His blessings on your families during
this blessed month)
My name is Mahboob Razia and I am your child’s Islamic Studies
teacher. I would like to welcome you to the 2008-2009 school year, which
will be a glorious and fruitful start of a new academic year. At MCC Full
Time School, we are working hard to provide the best education for your
children. Through our dedication and commitment, we will ensure that your
child develops both emotionally and mentally throughout the school year. In
this letter, I will provide you with a brief description of my education and
career to reflect on my interest in educating children.
I am a graduate from Osmania University (India) with a Bachelor’s
degree in Chemistry. After few months of my stay in America, I earned a
certificate in early childhood education. Then I successfully completed a
computer driven customer service course and worked in the rehab program at
Hayt Elementary School. After gaining valuable experience, I was thrilled
to share my expertise with my Muslim colleagues and benefit the Muslim
community. I started my career at MCC teaching first graders followed on
the two years teaching Kindergartners. This is my tenth year in MCC Full
Time School and it gives me great pleasure to teach fourth graders with Ms.
Hussain once again.
A few things that I have taught in the past years include important
Islamic concepts such as Aqa’ed, Fiqh, Tareekh, Seerah, Hadith and Akhlaaq.
I place more emphasis in teaching students these concepts with illustrations
from real life experiences. This teaching method ensures that the children
will learn the material with interest and implement their learned knowledge
in their daily lives. In addition, I teach Sunnah every week and give
importance to value of the month to help motivate the students, so they can
not only thrive academically but socially as well. In order to reinforce the
material, I always conduct weekly tests and examine the students on what
they have learned.
Throughout the school year, I welcome any suggestions you have about
your child’s Islamic Education and I am willing to work out additional
office hours to discuss your child’s needs. Inshallah, I will be updating
the newsletter every two weeks on my website which can be accessed through
www.Teacherweb.com. I wish your children good luck with their studies at MCC
Full Time School and Inshallah this thriving academic institution will
produce the best out of your children.
Jazakallah,
Mahboob Razia

Discipline Rules and Homework Policy
I hope that this year becomes a rewarding year for your children. In this
year I also want the following discipline rules to be followed in class:
A) Discipline rules
• Be prepared for each lesson with books, notebooks, workbooks and
pencils.
• Listen carefully during class.
• Cooperate when working in groups.
• Respect the teacher and peers with courteous manners.
• Follow proper etiquettes in classroom, hallways, cafeteria and most
importantly, during Salah.
• Students should be quiet while going to the prayer hall.
• Students will receive a Salah chart every week, parents should mark
and sign in each column.
• While answering questions during class, students should raise their
hands.
• In regards to discipline, after being reprimanded 3 times, students
will be assigned to write an essay on a specific topic.
B) Homework policy
• Complete homework assignments on time.
• Assigned hadith should be memorized promptly.
• Parents are required to sign every graded test and exam.
• Homework should be turned in before the deadline. If the homework
is turned in late, then ten percent will be deducted from it
everyday after
the deadline has passed. Late assignments will be accepted only
if the child is sick or has an excused absent.
I urge parents to make sure that their children understand these rules
and follow them. This would be a great help in organizing the class in a
proper manner. I wish good success to all the students and hope that I
attain the support from the parents as well as the students.
Assalamualaikum,
Mahboob Razia
Students will be graded in the following way:
• 97 % = A+ Tests = 50 %
