Dear Parents,
Assalaamu Alaikum!
Welcome to the 2009-2010 school year! I hope you had a relaxing and
fun summer. I want to take this time to introduce myself and let you know
somethings about this year.
My name is Miss. Elma Dzankovic. I have the pleasure of working with your
child this year in Pre-Kindergarten. I am very excited to be starting my
sixth year at MCC Full Time School and cannot wait to get to know each of
you and your children. I graduated from Kendall College and have a Bachelors
degree in Education. My mission and goal as your child’s teacher is to help
your child reach their full potential while raising their self-esteem and
belief in themselves.
I believe that communication between school and home is very
important to your student’s success in school. For this reason, you will find
a newsletter twice a month in your child’s folder. The newsletter will
include basic concepts that will be covered in our class within the two
weeks, and special announcements. I ask that you please read and keep this
newsletter as a guide for the week. Also, you can visit our website
www.teacherweb.com, where you can find our newsletter, fieldtrips, special
announcements, and other information about our school.
Just a few reminders to keep in mind are: in the month of Ramadan,
the school timings will be 8:10 AM to 2:30 PM Monday thru Thursday. On
Friday’s students will be dismissed at 3:00 PM due to Friday Salah. Also,
Students should bring a lunch from home for the month of Ramadan. THERE IS NO
HOT LUNCH PROVIDED IN RAMADAN. There is no microwave in the classroom so
please pack your child’s lunch accordingly. Students should bring 2 snacks for
the morning and for the afternoon as well. Please make sure that the snack
your child brings is healthy. Students may bring vegetables, fruits, granola
bars, cereal such as cheerios or froot loops, yogurt etc. Also, provide
necessary utensils for their food. Also, open house will be on Wednesday,
August 26, 2009 Inshallah. I will highly recommend that you attend this event.
I will be going over curriculum, classroom rules/policies and other important
information.
Mrs. Fatima Hashmi who is also a certified teacher amd has been teaching
for three years will be my assistant. Ms. Zarin Mujtaba will be my assistants
as well. Also, some of the other teachers that will be teaching the Pre-K are
Ms. Fatima Musa (Arabic), Ms., Khavla (Quran) and Ms. Al-Qudsi (Islamic
Studies).
