Both reading groups have
completed all the stories from the textbook. This week we will begin our novel
study on The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. Please make sure you
bring in a copy of this book on MONDAY, MAY 7th.
IOWA Testing this week:
April 23rd to April 27th! Please make sure to bring 5 sharpened #2 pencils,
erasers, and a healthy snack! Also, make sure to get enough rest and eat a
healthy breakfast! Practice test links are found under "Fun Links"

FIELD TRIP to the DuSable
Museum is on Wednesday, February 22nd. Permission slip and money are due by
February 17th!
Our 3rd Grade classes
finished writing their FIRST research report! Students used books from the
library and researched their topics, using graphic organizers to sort out the
information. 3rd Grade followed the steps of the writing process and wrote
drafts of their essay. We had great help from Mrs. Khan's 6th grade class, who
proof-read and editted our reports. 3rd Grade also visited the computer lab
and learned how to use Microsoft Word, and typed up their reports. All the
project boards were beautiful! Job well done 3rd Grade!
Welcome back! I hope you all
had a relaxing and safe break. Immigration interview was due today. If you did
not bring it, please hand it in by tomorrow.
Have a wonderful winter
break! I sent home a winter break math packet. Please encourage your child to
complete this packet, as it will benefit their education!
School resumes on January
9th. Immigration Project is due. Details are under "Copies/Handouts."
One of our dear classmates
will be moving out of the country. Tomorrow is Faris Kavoic's last day at our
school. We will be having a small farewell party for him (1:00-2:00 p.m.) Feel
free to bring snacks and games for the class. We'll miss you Faris!

Wednesday, November 23rd. The sign up sheet is posted outside the classroom.
Please sign up as soon as possible!
Tomorrow is our Eid Carnival
and classroom party. Please remember to bring your assigned item. Also there
will be no uniform tomorrow.
Eid Mubarak! The Eid
Carnival is on Wednesday, November 16th. Please bring in $10 and your
permission form by Monday, November 14th.
We will also have our
classroom Eid party the same day, Nov. 16th. A list of assigned snacks/items
have been sent out. If you are unable to bring in the assigned item, please
notify me as soon as possible.
Alhumdulillah our field trip
to the farm went well. Thank you to the chaperons: Mrs. Yousef, Mrs. Sindhu,
Mrs. Salih, and Mrs. Kejavic!

The start of an amazing trip
began today! Inshallah we will have a successful year. Please bring your
