This is my 15th year teaching and my 9th year at Marian Central. Prior to
teaching I had a business as an electronic technician. I received my
Bachelor's from Northern Illinois University and my Masters in Education from
National Louis University. I am the advisor for the Outdoor Club as well as
the Rocket Club at Marian. I also coach the Bass Fishing team winning
Sectionals in the inagural year of the sport.
Outdoor Club is designed to give students the opportunity to try different
outdoor activities in a safe environment with instruction from qualified
individuals. The students that join the club pick the activities we are
involved in each year. Our big activites this year are paint ball, archery,
rock climbing, ski/snow board.
The rocket club is designed to give students a chance to learn more about
building, designing, launching and successfully recovering model rockets.
This year we are entered in two competions, Team America Rocketry Challenge
and Rockets 4 Schools.
The students in Bass Fishing fish for Bass primarily, but we also enter
tournaments for other species if students are interested. The students spend
time fishing one or two times a week as well as learning techniques and
skills that improve their fishing skills and understanding of fish life cycle
and preservation of quality fish habitat.
