Seniors

ATTENTION SENIORS:

Please pay close attention to application deadlines and get your transcript requests into the guidance office in a timely manner.  Due to the massive volume of requests received this time of year, it may take up to at least 10 schools days to process a transcript request.

Mrs. Rebecca Reed - Guidance Director
College Counselor, Senior Counselor (A-Z)
Ext. 120
rreed@marian.com

Mrs. Reed will be calling her seniors in for 1:1 meetings during first semester. If you have questions or need support, simply visit guidance and make an appointment to meet with her. There is no need to wait to be called in.

Seniors need to be continuing their focus on their grades throughout the school year. All offers of college admission are subject to a review of a student's final senior transcript.

COLLEGE REPRESENTATIVE VISITS

College representatives visit Marian during the school day throughout the school year. Students interested in meeting with a particular representative must obtain a pass from Mrs. Diamond, Guidance Secretary, at least one day prior to the scheduled visit.  Only Seniors may attend these visits and Juniors may attend them beginning second semester.

These meetings are a valuable way to obtain general and specific information, to get questions answered, to express interest, and to establish personal contact with a particular school. Upcoming rep visits are listed on the College Rep Visits page, in Marian's daily announcements, and on a calendar in the Guidance office.

CAMPUS VISITS

Planning a college campus visit? Don't forget to contact the admissions department of the school to formally schedule your visit. If possible, take a guided tour, meet with an admissions counselor, and meet with a faculty member and student in your department of interest. Click this link for some helpful tips to consider prior to your visit: ACMCollegeVisits.pdf.

MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS

Be sure to contact the admissions offices, financial aid offices, and specific departments of the schools you are applying to for any additional scholarship information that may be available--some scholarships require separate application forms, beyond the application for admission. Many scholarships have early deadlines, so you should be checking on scholarship availability as soon as possible.
